How long have you been fly fishing and where
did you learn to flyfish?
With so many members in the club we decided to introduce a few members with every issue of our magazine so everybody can learn the names and faces of our club members.
Meet the Members
Jeremy Pitman
I learnt to fly fish as a 12 year old with family friends, Bruce and Keith Soal, at their farm in Dullstroom. I didn't fish very much during high school and university but I picked it up again 2 years ago when I started my job in Centurion

Where did you hear of the JFFC?
I had recently moved back to Centurion after studying in Cape Town and my friend Deo Du Plessis told me about JFFC at our 10-year high school reunion in 2016. I probably shouldn't admit that because he'll start demanding recruitment fees from the club.
What is your "go-to fly"?
Deo would consider me somewhat of a heathen to say this, but my go-to fly would have to be a woolly bugger.
What makes fly-fishing so special?
The fact that you can simply pack up your things and return home from a day's worth of fishing without smelling like the bait you used for the day's fishing! What I truly like about fly fishing is that it is more about the sport of catching the fish and releasing it back into the water, rather than simply about catching the biggest fish you can.
