How long have you been fly fishing and where
did you learn to flyfish?
I was probably about 15 years old when I received an old fly reel from a friend. I bought a rod and the rest is history. My first fish was a small bass on a black woolly worm tied by one of my friend's father.
Where did you hear of the JFFC?
Benji kept on nagging me to join and we went out to Vaal Hackle one day where a couple of club members went along. I think I learnt more in two hours from the club members than in two years fishing for yellows. It was a no Brainer
What makes fly-fishing so special?
It clears the mind and makes you focus on one thing at a time.
What is your favorite venue and why?
Vaal Hackle - You don't have to wade far to catch fish the whole day
Briefly tell us about your most memorable catch.
My first smallmouth yellow in the Vaal. After that, my bank account started crying.
