Serendipity: I had the pleasure of watching this past season of MACtv’s model land, it was very interesting and it was always a pleasure to see what new twist that contestants brought to each topic. When was the first time that you realized that you wanted to create such stylish clothing?
LibidoScarlett: Thank you. It was my first reality/modeling show. It was very interesting to me too. It was a new and exciting experience. The first time I realized I wanted to create, was when I was in Model Slayhem. There I met Kartierre, who was also a competitor and the winner of that Cycle. DancingElk was also in it. Seeing them be creators, and model items from the shop in the challenges. I thought...I want to do that. I want to create, and model items that I cant find in the show. As a model, you get ideas of what you want to do for a shoot. And its tough to find everything or exactly what you want. But starting is tough. Honestly I was discourage at first. I didnt know the first thing about it. The first item I made was a dress. lol I remember having such a hard time with it. Now when I look back its funny because now if I was doing that same dress it would be so much easier. I was so proud of that dress. Kartierre and Lavere, owners of Fiori were a huge support for me when I was started. They were always willing to help me or tell me advice.
Serendipity: It is always great to have someone that supports us when we are starting off, is there any advice that you wish that you could have gave yourself at the time?
LibidoScarlett: Yes. Ask for help sooner lol. I didnt personally know any creators. I felt like it was a bother to go approach someone and ask them for help. Until I became friends with Kartierre. But even then I felt weird asking for help. Like what if she says no or I dont have time etc. It was my first time getting involved in the world of creators. I had no idea how they were. Some people make creators out to be these unreachable people, or stuck up etc. But I learned it isnt like that for everyone. A lot of them a really super nice and willing to help.
Serendipity: What has been on of the hardest parts of developing?
LibidoScarlett: For me, one of the hardest parts about developing has been bringing all the ideas in my mind to life. I get piles of ideas. But often the mesh needed doesn't exists. So I get stuck trying to find a mesh close enough to my idea. It makes me want to start doing meshes too. lol But I'm not good at multitasking. I have an easier time if I focus on one thing at a time. I'm always on the look out for people that do meshes. New or old. Known and unknown. I actually have folders and folders with ideas of things I want to make, but often have to put them a side while I find a mesh for it.
