Serendipity: What would you say enabled you to grow as a model and do well in all the contest that you have entered? How do you motivate yourself to do well- your best- for every contest?
Gemma: As most of the models know in SIMA, Andraste is my real life twin sister. For me she has been my motivation in so many ways. What most do not see behind the scenes is how hard she pushes me, while she places nice critiques in most often she will sit down and critically show me what I did wrong or be yelling from the next room.
Serendipity: With that being said, would you say that being able to bring the unexpected to a contest, and in putting your own “spin” to a contest is the most important when entering contests?
Gemma: I would say that it’s very
important thing when entering a contest. As models we each put a little piece of our personality, our own “spin” into an outfit. Just as not everyone is going to like the same thing in rl, not everyone is going to have the same fashion since. For example, Andraste’s style flairs between classy and edgy whereas mine bounces back and forth between cute, taking on a rock style and sexy. While we are identical twin, our personalities and likes differ which is what inspires our looks.
Serendipity: How do you use criticism in order to grow?
