Kaiuri: I'll tell you this. I love the thrill of competition. Haha, I suppose it is the challenge itself that motivates me. I love to push my boundaries and take myself to the next level.
When I submit an entry I have to look at it and ask myself whether or not I could have done better, what about the submission could have been improved, and how to do so for my next one. I also try to exceed the norm with each outfit and add my own spin to everything.
I want it to be something that no one can predict, something no one can expect. When putting my “fits” together I want to surprise the viewer by placing things together in the same outfit that sometimes do not belong together . . . if that makes sense ? I try to test myself (lol).
Interviewer: Yes that makes total sense.
With that being said, would you say that being able to bring the unexpected to a contest, and in puting your own "spin" to a contest is the most important when entering contests?
Kaiuri: Of course ! How else will you be able to make yourself stand out from everyone else's submissions ? It’s how you get yourself noticed, in my opinion. Always add your personal spin to things. Put a little of your personality in it and make it your own.
Interviewer: That’s a great way of looking at things. I would have to agree with you, it does allow a model to stand out more. A big part of growing as a model has to do with the ability of taking criticism. How do you use criticism in order to grow?
