Micro-volunteering offers members an engagement opportunity that is focused and convenient and allows you to use your unique skills to contribute to organized dentistry with minimal time commitment . Examples of these opportunities span a broad spectrum of skills and interests , such as becoming a PDA Go Influencer , conducting an event-specific PDA social media takeover , participating in a PDA student event ( virtual or in-person ), assisting with a district / local dental society charitable program , or responding to a PDA Action Alert .
One of PDA ’ s newest micro-volunteering opportunities is PDA Go Influencer . This opportunity is district specific and can be done using your cell phone when you have a little free time . On the PDA Go mobile app you will start discussions , ask colleagues for feedback on trending issues , promote upcoming events for your district or local , and encourage colleagues to use PDA Go . The role of a PDA Go influencer is meant to be flexible , allowing members to contribute at their convenience .
ADA ’ s Health Policy Institute predicts a higher percentage of female U . S . dental school graduates will continue for the next several years . To continue to meet the needs of all members , PDA is asking you to help encourage women to serve in leadership positions , provide opportunities and an environment that is welcoming to all members , and recognize and celebrate volunteer efforts and achievements .
If you would like to learn more about PDA ’ s Leadership Academy , PDA volunteer opportunities or you are interested in volunteering , please email membership @ padental . org .
