ICD Again Honors Journal
The International College of Dentists USA Section has selected the Pennsylvania Dental Journal for the Outstanding Cover Division 1 Award in the ICD ’ s 2022 Journalism Awards . The PDJ was honored for our March / April 2021 issue , for the cover of our Cyber Security issue .
This marks the fourth consecutive year that the Journal has been honored in the ICD Journalism Awards , following the 2021 Special Citation Award ( for a special series of articles that spotlighted caring for the oral health of individuals with special needs ).
“ As the editor of the PDJ , it was a pleasure to learn your journal was again selected this year by the International College of Dentists ,” said Dr . Steve Radack . “ Our issue focusing on Cyber Security was awarded for Outstanding Cover . The lead story focused on the important aspects of cyber security , which is of the highest importance with both electronic health records and every other aspect of our lives being part of cyberspace and subject to hackers . I want to thank the communications team at PDA , especially our Director of Communications , Rob Pugliese , as well as the creativity of our production lead , Gregg Sheibley at 206 Design .”
PDA Honored with Three Awards
Your PDA was a big winner in ADA ’ s recently announced 2021 Membership Recruitment and Retention Awards , receiving honors in three categories !
The awards include seven categories , with states grouped into six cohorts based on their active member count . PDA has been honored with awards for being THE BEST in three categories among states having a range of 3,501-5000 members .
We received awards for :
• Greatest Net Gain of New Dentists
• Greatest Net Gain in Membership
• Converted Highest Number of Diverse Dentists to Membership
“ This is a proud achievement for the PDA reflecting the effective collaboration of the membership team in our state as well as a clear vision for growth ,” said PDA president Dr . Nancy Rosenthal . “ I hope this serves as a springboard for opportunities to achieve the long-term strategic goal of increased members , while we continue to communicate the value of PDA membership .”
This well-deserved recognition spotlights our continued efforts to support our members and affirms that our efforts are appreciated . And , it is truly a team effort . PDA staff would like to express our appreciation to volunteer leaders and members who actively promote membership to your colleagues . These awards are a result of your ongoing efforts to engage your colleagues and to promote the positive work of organized dentistry .
Next year ’ s PDM is scheduled for April 28-29 , 2023 at Normandy Farm in Blue Bell .
