TELL US THE STORY OF HOW YOU GOT INTO CAKE DECORATING AND HOW YOU GOT TO WHERE YOU ARE TODAY? I’ ve always been creative for as long as I can remember— Mum says I take after my yiayia. Growing up, the kitchen was the heart of our home and it still is today. I’ ve always loved cooking and baking, and fresh flowers or a touch of greenery have been part of my home for as long as I can remember. Mum and Dad now love cutting blooms straight from their garden just for me. Looking back, it seems only natural that all these passions came together to create what I do now.
Bouquet Cakes began officially in early 2019, during a time when I was looking for a hobby that would bring me calm, creativity and fun. One day I stumbled across a photo of a stunning piped red rose on a cupcake. I was instantly captivated and thought,“ I have to learn how to do that.” From that moment, I couldn’ t get enough of creating these edible floral works of art.
I began making cupcake bouquets for friends and family. As my skills grew and the joy I felt in creating them became impossible to ignore, I took the leap into turning my passion into a business.
The journey has been filled with countless hours of practice, an unwavering commitment to excellence and the humbling honour of receiving multiple awards along the way. I’ ve also been blessed to work alongside some truly wonderful and reputable businesses on projects that have pushed my creativity even further.
Today, Bouquet Cakes has evolved. While I still take on a select number of customer orders, my focus has shifted to creating innovative products like my specialty cupcake boxes, mentoring and educating others and building strong partnerships with some of the best in the industry. It’ s been a journey of passion, perseverance, so much hard work and joy— one I’ m proud for every single day.
WHERE DO YOU FIND INSPIRATION FOR YOUR DESIGNS? It was the rose- of course. I actually thought it looked really good looking back now it really wasn’ t. But I fell in love with the process and I kept going, practicing again and again. Over time, I found my rhythm, my own style and a way of piping that felt uniquely mine. I think that’ s something many people overlook— the importance of giving yourself the time and space to grow, to make mistakes and to truly discover your own creative voice. That’ s where the magic really happens.
