Local readers gathered at the Providence Art Club for Reach Out and Read Rhode Island ’ s annual celebration , raising funds to provide kids with the chance to read . Guests tried their luck at raffles , enjoyed refreshments and sipped on cocktails as they honored community hero Brenda Seagrave-Whittle for her commitment to the cause .
