Q: Why did you choose RIC for your
master’s
A: My mother had a seventh-grade
education and my father an eleventh,
so I had never envisioned myself
completing a bachelor’s degree, let
alone a master’s degree. It wasn’t until I
inquired about graduate programs at
RIC that I saw this was possible.
Q: What did you gain
from the program?
A: The graduate
program was a
life-altering experience.
Faculty not only
served as instructors,
but professional
mentors. I conducted two major
research projects that have completely
reshaped my philosophy as a
professional and helped me become a
better advocate for students.
Q: What made the program
distinctive?
A: What made RIC’s graduate program
so great was the camaraderie I
experienced with my classmates,
who, like me, were also working and
brought real-life experiences and
issues to the classroom.
