SPEEDWAY 51
It’s hard to believe but it is
championship Saturday night,
this Saturday, Sept. 17 at
Speedway 51 in Groveton.
Champions will be crowned in
six divisions, but it is not just
championship battles that will
be hotly contested, it is the mini
battles for top ten point standing finishes that will help keep
race fans on the edge of their
seats. This weekends event will
feature Senior Citizen’s Night,
and will be sponsored by Creative Counters.
North Country Ford Late
Model point leader Derek Ming
solidified his championship run
by winning his heat and the
feature this past Saturday night.
Shawn Swallow and Brad
Bushey are the two main contenders left in the battle. Bren-
don Moodie has clinched the Sign
Depot Tiger Sportsman championship, but Mike Giroux, Colby
Bourgeois and Bill Stebbins Jr.
continue to fight for top three
positions. Bunker Hodgdon had
a tough night last Saturday evening, but still leads the way in
the Pepsi/Schweppes Street
Stocks. Jared Plumley, Cody
Smith and Peyton Lanphear are
battling for top three supremacy.
Kasey Beattie, Evan Hallstrom
and Garrett Labounty have a
tremendous battle brewing for
the A.B. Excavating Daredevil
championship. This one will go
down to the final checkered flag.
Todd Derrington has a sixteen
point lead over Kevin Keane in
the White Mountain Community
College Pure Stocks. Richie Veilleux and Jean Leblanc have an
outside shot at the title, and
Chris Ouellette has a five point
advantage over Jason Kenison in
the North East Cyclone class.
