The Remedy
What is the remedy ? Israel found it easy if they would simply observe their rules of diet — clean and unclean foods . They simply could not go where unclean foods were served . And therein lies our remedy . It is a matter of diet .
The child of God , to maintain fellowship , must eat clean food , clean spiritual food . First on the list is the manna of God ’ s Word . That must be the main course . Side dishes should consist of good Christian literature and books . Prayer provides his beverage ; and for dessert , psalms and hymns and spiritual songs .
I don ’ t want to be considered a prude or an antiquated fossil ; but when I look over the average be - liever ’ s menu , I do not wonder we have lost our witness and power .

The Master is seeking a harvest In souls He ’ s redeemed by His blood . He seeks for the fruit of the Spirit
And works that will glorify God .
He looks for His likeness reflected In lives that are yielded and true .
He ’ s looking for zeal in the winning Of souls He ’ s entrusted to you .
He ’ s yearning for someone to carry His life-giving Word far and near .
He ’ s waiting for hearts that are willing , For ears that are open to hear .
Proclaiming the Gospel
Dr . Archibald Brown , a coworker of Spurgeon , advised young preachers thus : First , the Gospel is a fact , therefore tell it simply . Second , it is a joyful fact ; therefore tell it cheerfully . Third , it is an entrusted fact ; therefore tell it

The rule that governs my life is this : Anything that dims my vision of Christ , or takes away my taste for Bible study , or cramps my prayer life , or makes Christian work difficult , is wrong for me and I must as a Christian turn away from it .

The Eternal Word of God
Last eve I paused beside the blacksmith ’ s door
And heard the anvil ring the vesper chime ;
Then , looking in , I saw upon the floor ,
Old hammers worn with beating years of time .
“ How many anvils have you had ,” said I ,
“ To wear and batter all these hammers so ?”
“ Just one ,” said he , and then with twinkling eye ,
“ The anvil wears the hammers out , you know .”
“ And so ,” thought I , “ the anvil of God ’ s Word ,
For ages skeptic blows have beat upon .
Yet tho ’ the noise of falling blows was heard
The anvil remains unharmed and all the hammers gone .”

I have been in that old church in New England where Jonathan Edwards preached his great sermon “ Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God .” He had a little manuscript which he held up so close to his face that they could not see his countenance .
He went on and on until the people in the crowded church were tremendously moved . One man sprang to his feet , rushed down the aisle and cried , “ Mr . Edwards , have mercy !”
Other men caught hold of the backs of the pews lest they should slip into perdition . I have seen the old pillars around which they threw their arms when they thought the day of judgment had dawned upon them .
For three days Edwards had not eaten a mouthful of food . Over and over again he had been saying to God : “ Give me New England ! Give me New England !” and when he rose from his knees and made his way into the pulpit they say that he looked as if he had been gazing straight into the face of God .
They say that before he opened his lips to speak , conviction fell upon his audience .

One of the most subtle and destructive errors of our day and hour is that men who profess to be religious leaders and representa - tives of the Gospel refuse to permit the Gospel to have the final word . They are forever adding their own interpretation .
They add to and take from the plain Gospel of salvation by grace through faith in the finished work of Jesus . They announce grace and preach works . They announce the Gospel and preach the traditions of men .
They announce allegiance to God and yet seek to please the denomination or the religious leaders in their group and by so doing commit the same sin as the preachers of error in Colosse committed in deviating from the Gospel of grace and mixing the traditions of men , Judaism , spir - itual ism and other “ isms ,” in an attempt to lead the Colossians away from pure grace and the finished work of the Lamb of God .

We have come to a time today when we are continually on the defense . We dig our little spiritual foxholes and pile up our sandbags and shoot over the sandbags with our little spiritual peashooters and try to keep the Devil from getting us , when we ought to be marching out like an army and having the Devil run from us .
There is not a verse in the Bible that says , “ Run from the Devil .” But there is a verse that says , “ Resist the devil , and he will flee from you ” ( Jas . 4:7 ).
We have such a cheap , weak , flimsy , whimsy brand of Christianity today that the Devil can go to sleep on top of the average church and never wake up .

Illinois ’ New Sex Ed Guidelines Promote Abortion , Sexualize Students

The curriculum , which is endorsed by LGBT advocacy groups GLSEN and the Human Rights Campaign as well as abortion organizations like Planned Parenthood , also informs young students about “ different kinds of families ,” including those with “ cohabitating ” and “ samegender ” parents .…
Additionally , students will be expected to “ distinguish between sex assigned at birth and gender identity … and explain differences between cisgender , transgender , gender nonbinary , gender expansive and gender identity .”…
The bill also suggests that sex education curriculum in Illinois schools will be required to provide information about abortion .

Teachers Ask Court to Halt Virginia School District Policy Forcing Them to Use Trans Pronouns
A pair of teachers are seeking to take a Virginia school district to court over a newly passed policy requiring , among other things , that staff use the preferred names and pronouns of trans-identified students .…

The complaint further alleges that if the teachers were to comply with the policy , “ they would be forced to communicate a message they believe is false .”
