Step 22:
Start applying the overhanging curved strips around the bottom tier. These should support themselves on the royal icing coat easily as long as they are very thin strips. For the wider strips, use an acupuncture needle to support while the royal icing dries completely.
Step 23:
Extend the curved strips application onto the middle tier. The middle tier will have a flush point with the bottom tier. The top tier should be flush with the middle tier.
Step 24:
Start airbrushing your metallics onto the cake. Start with gold at the top and working your way down to rose gold, bronze and dark bronze. TIP: No airbrush? You can paint it! It will take longer of course, but the final product will be similar.
