DO YOU KNOW WHO LOVE IS?
When you think about love, if you're a woman, you think about your Dad. He was the one who protected you, provided for you and he was the one who chased all the boys you liked away. When you think about love, if you're a man, you think about your Mom. She was the one who sat up with you when you were sick or got hurt playing sports. She was also the one you could cry to and she didn't make you feel you were less than a man. She would kiss your hurts, whatever they were, and make them all better.
Then one day somebody comes to you and says, “Let me tell you about a man.”
I don't know about you but when someone came to me and said those words. I ran! I thought about my life at the time and they were telling me all I would have to give up to be a child of God and I wasn't ready to make any changes. I liked my life. How many of you know that when God is ready for you to follow Him, there's no place you can run or hide.
A movie script writer wrote, “I'll love you past your pain” and if you give Him a chance God will do the same. He will love you when you feel unlovable, He will love you when you're afraid to love, and He will love you when you feel like you are all alone. He will even love you when you act ugly or when you go off to do all you think you're big enough to do, He'll be right there waiting for you where you left Him.
God’s love is unconditional! He won't ask you what's in your bank account; he won't even demand you give anything up for Him. As you grow in Him you'll give up things on your own, because you want to please Him.
So who is love? 1 John 4:10 KJV says it best, “Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.”
