TRENDS TO WATCH
“ All interior designers are observing trends, you have to be aware of them,” says Duffy. Here are three trends to keep an eye on.

• Hues with heat.“ I love how colour has evolved into much richer, warmer tones. Even with whites now, we’ re seeing far fewer black-based and greybased whites and much warmer ones mixed with terracottas, tans, browns, plums and even yellows.”
• Tiles to style.“ I’ m also loving seeing more mosaics. You have an opportunity with mosaics to create more interest on the walls or on the floor with intricate patterns and [ to ] contrast grout to tiles.”
• Fun with fungi.“ I expect all that to come back around! That [ mushroom ] trend is an homage to the 60s, 70s and 80s. Interiors are always a little bit behind fashion, so we’ re not quite in the 90s yet. Nothing surprises me, which keeps it interesting!”
