MARIETJIE'S OBJECTIVE IS TO CONVERT THE AREA TO A HINTERLAND AREA. AUBREY KRUGER M 22 arietjie was born in Delareyville and grew up on her parents' farm, Springbok, between Schweizer-Reneke and Delareyville. She attended pri­ mary schools in Migdol and Delareyville and matriculated at High School Schweizer-Reneke in 1982. Her 19 years in the agri-indus­ try and the fact that she is from this area, are of the utmost impor­ tance and she can add a lot of value. “My strongest asset is that I know a lot of people in this area,” said Marietjie. Her main duties involve the provision of input products such as seed, fertiliser, diesel and chemicals to producers, and to get their production facilities in place. A good relationship with producers and exceptional service are of the utmost importance to her. Another aspect which is not negotiable, is integrity. And this is what customers can expect from her. She is in for the long run. She worked at Senwes for 15 years, which means she knows the agri-industry. She celebrated 29 years of married life with her husband, Johan, on 2 July this year and they will be celebrating 30 years, or their pearl anni­ versary, next year. Johan is also involved in the agri-industry and is head of Corporate Marketing and Communication at Senwes. They have two children, Janelle (28) and Marnus (26). Janelle is married to a producer from the Western Cape and rugby player, BG Uys. 1 June is an important day in her life. She was born on this day, she started her career at Senwes on this day and on 1 August she entered a new era when she joined Hinterland as agricultural business manager. Team work is of the utmost importance. She depends a lot on branch manager, Waldo Venter, key account manager Johan Olivier and manager input provi­ sion, Kevin Smit. She believes that “you do not work for someone, you work with them.” Producers can be assured that Marietjie will always be planning their future with them.
