•••• CO L U M N PHOTO: LEEF To have courage MILANIE VOSLOO IT TAKES COURAGE TO DEMONSTRATE COURAGE. STAYING COURAGEOUS DAY AFTER DAY REQUIRES MUCH MORE... AND LESS... F armers and their families often need a lot of courage. After all, they have to take risks every season; they are at nature’s mercy and the challenges being faced in our country are not becoming less. Having courage is one thing. Keeping it up , however, is something totally different: It means that you have to carry on doing things that are difficult but the right thing to do, despite opposition. It means performing your daily duties without complaining, even if you are tired and despondent, and demonstrating love and kindness - even if it is not returned. Sustaining courage means to continue overcoming endless stumbling blocks. It requires a different type of strength ... or maybe the acknowledgement that you are too weak to do it by yourself. It may require more dependence upon the Man of Courage and holding on to Him much tighter. A deeper knowledge that He is first and foremost a Father to questioning, courageous people. Sustaining courage does not mean you have to do it alone. All you need to do is spend time on your knees. It is there, in your Gethsemane, where He will kneel next to you and drink from your cup. He will carry your cross on your Via Dolorosa. Keeping up courage requires more ... It requires you to become less ... to enable Him to be more. To enable you to see the light, through Him, and to being the light. When you are feeling low, hold on to: May you be strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy! Col. 1.11b Thank you Lord, that I can walk the path of courage with You. Amen. 60 OCT/NOV 2016 • SENWES Scenario Win Join Milanie Vosloo on her walk to peace and the God of joy.
