Dawid Heymans is your senior grain procurer in
Potchefstroom and in his opinion business revolves around one thing only - the client ! To work with the client and to render optimal service is his objective . And he should know , with more than 26 years ’ experience in the industry .
Heymans joined Senwes in 1990 as credit controller in the Debtor division , now known as Senwes Credit . At a later stage he was appointed as relationship manager and junior grain procurer , before he was appointed as senior grain procurer in 2007 . He has been working in Potchefstroom for the past two years and Potchefstroom , Parys , Raathsvlei , Weiveld , Wolwehoek , Enselspruit , Gotenburg , Hoogte and Vredefort fall under him .
Dawid says that the Senwes marketing group at Raathsvlei is most effective and that it funtions very well . They meet every two weeks and Johan Botha , the relationship manager at Potchefstroom , usually leads the discussions . Dawid attends the meetings twice a month and marketing matters and trends are discussed . “ These meetings are very fruitful ,” Dawid said . Three other marketing groups are also active , namely Enselspruit , Vredefort and Weiveld , and they also meet every two weeks . “ It is ideal to have weekly one-on-one sessions ,” Dawid said .
In addition to Dawid in Potchefstroom , Alta Pretorius is the grain procurer in Parys and she works in the Weiveld , Enselspruit and Vredefort areas . Johan Botha manages Raathsvlei , Wolwehoek , Heilbron and Gotenburg and Hennie du Plessis is their regional manager .
Although Dawid works in Potchestroom , he lives in
Klerksdorp with his wife Yolande . They have two sons , Rudolph ( 21 ) and Erlo ( 19 ), who both study at the Northwest University .

Johan Botha manages relationships
Johan Botha , the relationship manager in
Potchefstroom , describes his work in simple terms . According to the 47-year old Johan , who was born in Ladybrand and who has been working for the company for more than 14 years , it is simple : “ Good relationships to the benefit of the client .”
It is pivotal . He compares it with the saying “ Happy wife , happy life .” Johan has , after all , been married to Isabel for 15 years .
“ I only focus on my client .” His main objective is therefore to see a smile on a satisfied client ’ s face .
Having said this , Johan warns that everything is by the grace of God and that he takes everything to his Father . “ You have to realise every single day how small and insignificant you are .”
Johan joined the company in 2002 as a client advisor at Wesselsbron . He has been working as relationship manager at Potchefstroom , although the job title changed over the years .
He regards it as part of the job to live close to his client and to evaluate his production inputs year-on-year . He is also always looking for new clients . He says that as a relationship manager one should never ever give up : “ You always have to be scrupulous .”
“ A client which I have been talking to for years only started doing business with us this year . There is always a way in which to do something , but in most instances you first have to prove yourself to your client .”
