Nampo Harvest Day 2021 has

officially been postponed to August . The biggest agricultural event of the year attracts thousands of patrons each year from across the country . The event is often the space where brands in the agricultural sector choose to launch new products and showcase their product ranges , seizing the opportunity to connect with their client base in person . Now , with the indefinite restrictions on outdoor events still in place despite the country moving to Covid alert level 1 , the future of Nampo Harvest Day as we know it , hangs in the balance .
The event was initially supposed to be held from 11 to 14 May but is now scheduled to take place on 17 to 20 August at Nampo Park in Bothaville .
According to a statement released by Grain SA , Nampo will continue to take place in August in a physical format , as opposed to the virtual format the organisers opted for in 2020 . However , Grain SA alluded that the event will be scaled down and not be as massive at is has been in previous years .
Grain SA has asserted their commitment to continuous evaluation and consultation in the time leading up to the event and they say that they are committed to implementing appropriate action plans in relation to the continued developments pertaining to COVID-19 so as to ensure the safety of all who will be attending the much-anticipated event .
“ While we are taking precautions and doing some things a little differently , our aim remains to present a diversified agricultural trade exhibition benefiting our loyal and longstanding partners , the local communities and the broader agricultural sector . Grain SA will remain committed to applying risk-informed-decision making and keeping all stakeholders informed every step of the way ,” said Dirk Strydom , Manager of Grain Economy and Marketing .
