Session 9: Informal Trade in South
Africa Part One
In session 9 a new approach is used to
give even more role-players in the value
chain the opportunity to share their voices
and let it be heard. Interviews conducted
with four different informal traders in
Soweto and in Alabama give context and
set the tone for the discussion. Further
to these participants, the other panel
members included Louw van Reenen,
CEO of Beefmaster, Izaak Breitenbach
- General Manager of SAPA’s Broiler
Organisation and Clive Tigere – KC
Hatchery sharing his success story of
playing a vital role in the informal sector in
Limpopo.
Session 10 will be an extension of the
informal trade in South Africa discussion
and will include panel members that will
elaborate and shed even more light on
how big this industry really is. Statistics
and opportunities presented by the
informal sector are up for discussion.
We strive to continue to grow this
platform and call on everyone to
interact and participate in the various
conversations presented on a weekly
basis.
