Uit die Woord
Pushing through, adapting
and finding new ways
Johan Schoeman
let a good crisis go to waste” - this seems
to have been the unspoken theme and survival
song of the Covid-19 pandemic. Pushing through,
"Never
adapting and finding new ways to ensure that the
show goes on, has been the order of the day since 27 March –
the day the president announced the new order of things for all
South Africans.
The president’s announcement threw the agricultural sector into
the spotlight as by his command, all other industries and economic
activities were temporarily brought to a halt. The agri-sector,
however, had to keep going as we are vital to the food security
and survival of our people. For the first time, people were given a
clear perspective of what the agricultural sector is – essential.
The Agricultural Value Chain Virtual Discussion Series has
provided the perfect backdrop, especially during this period, to
explain clearly, with context, the importance and intricateness of
the role players in the agricultural sector. With each conversation,
South Africans are led into the world of agriculture and made to
understand how processes that happen between the farmers,
agri-business, governments and world commerce combine to
serve the people. We learned which factors determine the price of
things and also quality.
This period has forced us all to prioritise efficiency and
adaptability over history and nostalgia. We have had to do
introspection like never before and remove clutter from our lives
and our business operations. For this reason, Scenario will now
be distributed digitally. We have gone paperless! This is the true
essence of breaking new ground. Adapting to new
circumstances without missing a step.
As we wait for the storm brewing across
the world to pass, it is important for
us to remain focused and continue
to make adaptations to the way we
move forward with each new dawn.
Through it all, we hold steadfast to the
hope that we will get through
this together.

Lewe naby My en
wees opreg!
‘n verhouding leef.
Dink terug
waar julle tussen ‘n skare mense was, veral toe jou kinders klein
was, by ‘n groot sport- of ander byeenkoms. Daar het jy dieselfde
van jou kinders gevra, bly naby my.
veilig deur die ‘onveilige’ omstandighede. Jy doen dit want jy weet;
my; Leef naby My!
Dink aan Dawid se Psalm 23; My Here, my
Herder!
Noag in Genesis 6; hy was regverdig, onberispelik, hy het naby
God geleef.
versoek aan elkeen van ons;
Lewe naby My en wees opreg. Kom; belééf die volheid van ‘n
oorvloed lewe, by My!
Ons bid: Here wees my Herder, hou my naby aan U!
