An exceptional achievement for Senwes and NAMPO Harvest Day AFTER AN UNBELIEVABLE 50TH NAMPO HARVEST DAY, WHICH WAS HELD FROM 17-20 MAY 2016 AT BOTHAVILLE, THERE IS HOPE IN THE HEART OF EVERY FARMER. T he rain which fell during the week before the NAMPO Harvest Day literally washed the harvest day terrain and the hearts of producers clean in preparation of the largest agricultural exhibition in the world. “It did not only rain money or grain, but also hope”, said Jannie de Villiers (Chief Executive of Grain SA). The drought has the country astir and there was huge concern that it would have a negative impact on NAMPO attendance figures. However, as we all know, farmers are resourceful. According to Grain SA attendance figures on the first day exeeded those of the previous year and attendance did not differ much from previous years. This year's NAMPO Harvest Day once again exceeded all expectations with something for every member of the family. One of the R6,3 million tractors was sold within the first 15 minutes of the launch. Nine models in total were booked and sold within the first two days of the NAMPO Harvest Day. Senwes also caused a stir at the NAMPO Harvest Day by donating R1 million to Agri SA for the Drought Disaster Fund on behalf of Engen. Senwes also joined hands with Astral, a leading, integrated poultry producer in South Africa. On 18 May 2016 at NAMPO Harvest Day a maize supply agreement was signed by Francois Strydom (Senwes Chief Executive Officer), Chris Schutte (Astral Chief Executive Officer), Andy Crocker (Meadow Feeds Managing Director) and Christo Booyens (Tradevantage Managing Director).
