NUUS | NEWS It was a weekend of tough competition and mentoring between Matlosana Hub and the Senwes Spinners. Highlights of SENWES SPINNERS HIGH PERFORMANCE The shining stars of the Senwes Spinners’ annual cricket tournament reunited once again for a weekend of great sporting action.  By Kefiloe Manthata Senwes Journalist T his time, however, they gathered at Senwes Park on the weekend of 14-16 June as team-mates and not opponents. The Senwes Spinners High Performance team was assembled by North West coaches and talent scouts during the 13th annual Senwes Spinners tournament in April. The High Performance team received matching team jackets to cement their exceptional performer status and solid- ify their team identity. At the handover ceremony which took place on Friday, 14 June, Senwes Head Group Corporate Marketing and Communications, Johan Grobler, congratulated the selected play- ers and encouraged them to continue to strive to be the very best that they can be and to take their sport and academics seriously, as these two things may be the key to a very bright future for them. Since its inception, the Spinners develop­ment programme has afforded Senwes and NW Cricket the opportunity to give back and make a lasting difference in the lives of many young boys whose spor­ ting dreams have come to fruition through the support of Senwes Spinners. To date, through the tournament, five young boys have received full scholarships for high school and tertiary education. Saturday evening came with a sweet treat for the boys. After very tough games against Matlosana Hub, the boys enjoyed some downtime with a night out to the local mall and a movie.
