O
n the day, under 11 and
under 13 teams from select-
ed schools across the North
West and Free State played
sevens rugby against each other for the
coveted winner’s trophy.
More sports action took place on the
netball fields with the under 11 and under
13 girls’ teams taking each other on in fast
five play. The games kicked off on a very
chilly Saturday morning, but everyone
showed up with positive energy to support
their teams.
Speaking at the event, Francois
Strydom, Senwes CEO, said that it is
always a privilege for Senwes to get
involved in the communities in which we
do business.
“The farmers and businesses around
communities are what sustains these
communities. We have a responsibility to
generate income and become a part of
community activities.” Atlhough this was
only the first Senwes Silo Festival, Senwes
plans of turning this event into an annual
occurrence.
Congratulations to the big winners
of the day Eben Dönges Primary
school, winners of both the under13
Netball and under13 Rugby competi-
tions. Congratulations also to Bloemhof
Combined School for taking the win in
the Rugby under 11 competitions. Ilane
Moolman (EDPS) took home the coveted
player of the day accolade for the netball
while Daniel Schoeman (Bloemhof) took it
home for the boys’ rugby.
Thank you to Bastion, Certisure,
Grainovation, Hinterland and Senwes
