NUUS | NEWS The Senwes Silo Festival was jam- packed with sports action as the teams put their best competitive feet forward to fight it out for the coveted win. http://senwes.co/SenwesSiloFees19 Resounding Success for first Senwes Silo Festival Senwes held the first ever Silo Festival on Saturday 20 July 2019 at Sandveld High School in Wesselsbron. The Senwes Silo Festival was a day dedicated to primary school sports.  By Kefiloe Manthata Senwes Journalist O n the day, under 11 and under 13 teams from select- ed schools across the North West and Free State played sevens rugby against each other for the coveted winner’s trophy. More sports action took place on the netball fields with the under 11 and under 13 girls’ teams taking each other on in fast five play. The games kicked off on a very chilly Saturday morning, but everyone showed up with positive energy to support their teams. Speaking at the event, Francois Strydom, Senwes CEO, said that it is always a privilege for Senwes to get involved in the communities in which we do business. “The far­mers and businesses around communities are what sustains these communities. We have a responsibility to generate income and become a part of community activities.” Atlhough this was only the first Senwes Silo Festival, Senwes plans of turning this event into an annual occurrence. Congratulations to the big winners of the day Eben Dönges Primary school, winners of both the under13 Netball and under13 Rugby competi- tions. Congratulations also to Bloemhof Combined School for taking the win in the Rugby under 11 competitions. Ilane Moolman (EDPS) took home the coveted player of the day accolade for the netball while Daniel Schoeman (Bloemhof) took it home for the boys’ rugby.
