A RE A F O CUS ••• The Potchefstroom silo consists of 13 bins. The old silo was erected in 1972 with the new section erected in 1986. The Potchefstroom silo team believes in excellent service! Here is Peter King (Silo manager), Johannes Koloane (Relief Assistant Silo Manager), Chris Kgopelelo, Johannes Morakanele and Edwin Monchusi (General Workers) as well as Lebohang Tsiu (Junior Assistant). Being home to the Fanie du Toit sports grounds, where athletes of world quality train, and Olënpark, the home of Leopards Rugby, explain why the city is also known as the sports mecca. The cherry on the top is that the Pukke are presently the Varsity champions! HINTERLAND BRANCH The branch manager at Hinterland Potchefstroom, Hennie Groenewald, has been with the company for 41 years. He had been the branch manager at a number of branches for the larger part of the past four decades, before he was transferred to Potchefstroom as branch manager two years ago. Hennie is in control of 60 members of staff at Potchefstroom. He proudly tells us that his personnel know the industry and that they render personal service. BRANCH HISTORY The branch moved to its current location years ago, after initially being located across the road. The old building was sold on 14 August 2002 and the branch has been situated on the new premises for the past 14 years. The fuel station on the corner is unique in the sense that it is open 24 hours a day - one of only three branches offering this service, with Bloemfontein and Wesselsbron being the other two. This is definitely Senwes country, with surrounding branches in Ventersdorp, Klerksdorp, Parys, Oberholzer as well as Viljoenskroon. POTCH SILO Peter King is the silo manager at Potchefstroom silo. This 39year old with 14 years' service at Senwes, has been the silo manager since 2007. He initially worked at Werda and thereafter at Schoonspruit silo and he has been the manager at Potchefstroom since 18 January this year. Peter proudly tells us that he is one of only five silo managers of colour at Senwes, with Samuel MofoChairman of Agri Potchefstroom, Jannie Keet. keng (G
