This brings the total number of bins to 31, with a storage capacity of approximately 113 400 tons. An overhead conveyor belt of approximately 60 metres ensures direct delivery to Eendag Mills, adjacent to the silo. In addition to Eendag Mills, the other large mill in town is Thuso Mills. The silo also has an additional outloading facility which speeds up the rate at which grain is taken in from 210 tons per hour to 450 tons per hour. The silo offices were also upgraded recently. Other silos in the area are Mirage, Schoonspruit and Schuttesdraai. CERTISURE A comprehensive service is offered by the Certisure office in Botha­ ville. BOTHAVILLE DISTRICT AGRICULTURAL UNION Faan Nel has been the Chairman of the Bothaville District Agricultural Union for some time now. This union has 50 members and there are four study groups in the area. Nel is also a former member of the Board of Directors of Senwes. He says that the facts that Bothaville is the home of the NAMPO Harvest Day and that Bothaville is the centre of the Maize Triangle, make Bothaville unique. “Senwes as agricultural company also plays a huge role in Bothaville and there would definitely have been a huge gap without them.” OTHER SECRETS Largest Datsun/Nissan collection One of the hidden secrets of 20 Eendag Milling is right next to the Senwes Silos Bothaville is the Datsun/Nissan collection of Freek de Kock. He has more than 100 vehicles in his collection and is undoubtedly the largest collector in South Africa. Some people even say that other collectors, globally, would struggle to compete with him. Some of his treasures are a sought-after Datsun GTR and a Datsun 240Z. A “City of Roses” Although Bloemfontein is officially known as the City of Roses, Bothaville is also known for its roses. The rose farm, Stols Roses, which belongs to Tinus Stols, has been cultivating roses for the past 26 years. This 4,5 hectare rose farm produces approximately 6,5 million roses per annum and is situated 30 km outside Bothaville. They cultivate roses for the export market, Woolworths and the domestic market. The farm forms part of
