Senwes Grainlink
established in 1972, tasked to
find a permanent terrain for the
Harvest Day. Harvest Days were
held over a four day period as from
1974 on the farm Marthaville in
the Bothaville district. This decision was based on the fact that
80% of the maize production was
situated within a radius of 160 km
from Bothaville. It was also easy to
reach, using the Klerksdorp-Bothaville tar road. The Harvest Day
terrain is still in Bothaville and is
now known as Nampo Park.
In the earlier days the Nampo
Harvest Day was an agricultural
paradise for men. However, in
1971 a shrewd lady saw a gap in
the market and she started to exhibit genuine hair wigs, known as
the Wig Bar. Today Nampo hosts a
large number of exhibitors focused
on the needs of the fairer sex.
Mr Cobus Coller, Chairman of
the Harvest Day, indicates that he
is very excited about the expansion
into game at Nampo. "I believe
that this expansion will create
huge interest. It also introduces a
further expansion of the farming
industry".
This year's 50th Nampo Harvest Day should be one of the
most important events on your
agricultural calendar. It will be a
celebration of agriculture for the
total agricultural industry. It is the
place where you can see what is
available in the market, what the
latest agricultural technology offers, where you can talk to agri-experts and compare information,
prices and services and eventually
make informed decisions, according to Coller.
Senwes Grainlink introduces
innovative technology at Nampo
SENWES GRAINLINK WILL
be introducing innovative new
technology at Nampo this year.
The Grainlink stall at the Nampo
Harvest Day will be manned by
competent procurers and silo personnel and will definitely amaze
visitors with their new 3D and
application technology.
Grainlink will be falling in with
Nampo's trend this year. "In the
era in which we live, renewal is at
the order of the day. For this reason the Harvest Day Committee
ensures that agriculture remains
at the forefront of technology
and products being exhibited at
Nampo", said Mr Johan Loxton,
Manager: Commercial Services of
Grain SA.
Grainlink recently introduced
its tip-top technological application (App) and will be ready at
Nampo this year to set up the
applicaton for users and to explain
to them in detail how it works
and the information offered by
the application. Training will also
be given by means of TV-screens
which will be available.
To top it all, Grainlink will surprise visitors with a 3D silo model
and video. For those who have
always wondered about the total
silo process, this is your chance!
You will be able to experience the
grain intake, handling and offloading process at a silo by means
of 3D glasses. You will literally
feel like a kernel making its way
through the silo. A 3D silo model
will also be exhibited, which can
be viewed at and touched by
visitors.
Finally, Grainlink will also
be launching a competition at
Nampo. “Visitors should not
miss the Grainlink stall this year.
A weather station will be up for
grabs every day", said Marietjie
Grobler, Project Manager of
Senwes Grainlink. The Grainlink
stall will be in the Hinterland Hall
again this year.
