during the drought
I
t is difficult
to celebrate
in difficult times. However, it
is necessary when milestones
are achieved. The word “feast”
is derived from the Latin word
festum or festa, which later
changed to festivus and festivalis,
and today we talk about feast or
carnival. During difficult times
it is possible to forget how to
celebrate. However, we have
to remember that, despite the
drought, we still have more than
enough reason to celebrate.
NAMPO will be celebrating its 50th birthday and
Senwes Grainlink and Hinterland will be present.
We also congratulate Senwes’
Jaco Minnaar on his appointment as the new Chairman of
Grain SA. Senwes Equipment
produced 11 of the country’s
top 50 technicians and two
reached the top ten phase of
the John Deere competition.
Myburg de Bruyn won the third
prize - more reason to celebrate.
Grasland was officially
welcomed to Senwes head
office after its move at the end
of 2015. On the other hand
Senwes Grainlink held a successful silo conference in Parys
and launched the new Grainlink
application. Inroads are also being
made by Grainlink, who will be
accepting grain with a higher
moisture content than usual.
The focus of this edition is
on Bothaville - the area, the
branch the silo and a producer
in the area. We continue with
2
our focus on emerging producers
and we celebrate Herbert Mabuza’s successful journey from
the media world to farming.
Rev. Carel Botma, also from
Bothaville, analyses the current
pressure on the producer. Our
regular articles are also featured,
which include Thys Grobbelaar’s Come Rain or Shine
and Safex Scenarios by Susari
Geldenhuys, as well as articles
by Rev Willie Botha, Jenny
Matthews and many others.
Huntex will be held at Gallagher Estate and the programme
reflects Hinterland’s involvement. In addition Jaco Kruger
teaches us more about silencers
in How do I get my hun ѥ
