RELATIONSHIPS
is Phillip’s
DESTINY
THERE IS ONLY one career for Phillip
Havenga, and that is to be a Relationship
Manager. People in Bothaville know Phillip as Senwes Village Hinterland’s Relationship Manager and he has been in this
position for the past five years.
It is Phillip’s dream to work with
clients and he lives this passion every day.
However, he had to make quite a detour to
reach this destination. He started out with
a photography course at the Vaal Triangle
Technikon, after which he worked on a
pleasure-boat for seven months.
The motor industry followed, where
Phillip also worked with people, and after
that the medical aid arena and the advertising industry, where he worked as consultant for Get It magazine.
The 37-year old Phillip knows by this
time that “client service is the most important aspect”. It is a very important link
between the business and the client. He
achieves success with regular visits, when
he “demonstrates face value”, since he is
the face of the company for many producers because they conduct their business
through him.
The most important aspect of success
for Phillip is that “it is measured by your
dependence upon God”. He is grateful to
be in his current position because “I don’t
think anything else would have worked
for me”.
Phillip is a family man. He was born
in Klerksdorp on Valentine’s Day in 1979
and is married to Marlize. They have a
daughter Zoë (10). Phillip’s other passion
is trail races and he has completed a number of well-known races.

Grain procurement

really go full-out! This is definitely the case with Phllip
Nell.
Phillip, Grain Procurer at Bothaville, gets straight to the
point with his view on grain procurement. “Be focused on
what you do. His point of view is that both parties have to
benefit from every transaction. It goes about “what I can do
for him and what he can do for me”.
This man, with almost 16 years of experience at Senwes,
believes that one has to make yourself indispensable. He
covers a large area in the Bothaville area, which includes
Schoonspruit, Schuttesdraai, Mirage and Regina. Phillip
progressed from Junior Assistant at Oberholzer Silo to Silo
Manager at Tadcaster, before he started to work as Grain
Procurer in Bothaville.
He declares that there is almost nothing that producers do
not know about him. He continues excitedly that he has been
married to Carla for two years and that their first baby will be
arriving in May this year.
Phillip says that one should be transparent. “You have to be
like an open book, for two reasons.” According to Phillip one
