Late rains delayed the harvesting season by four weeks , which resulted in a fewer number of days of storage income received . However , this was countered by higher quantities of grain received compared to the previous year . A slower dispatch programme due to the decrease in milling activities also contributed to higher storage income .
Handling income was higher than the previous year due to more tonnes and the mix of commodities received . Income from the drying of grain followed the same trend due to increased maize tonnages received with a high moisture content compared to the previous year .
