John Witton prefers an overcast day . She has a problem with Star Wars : Episode IX – The Rise Of Skywalker . Despite all her problems we have loved having Nat in the school – and for her part she thinks it ’ s the best job in the world ( except some days when it ’ s the worst job in the world ). When she moves to KES Birmingham , she will be a Maths teacher with special responsibility for outreach and extending the most able . This sounds perfect for her and I suppose we must let her go , though we will miss her heart and her humanity . We wish her and V – her excellent and extremely patient partner – all the very best . JOHN WITTON
John Witton is a passionate man . He is passionate about teaching Biology , whether that requires sifting through owl pellets to study their diet or dissecting squid ( with the bonus of cooking and eating it ). He is passionate about the environment , resolving to go plastic and meat-free – and then doing it . He is passionate about his running , turning out almost every day of every week , whether for cross country club , Sixth Form or Year 10 Games . He has led training trips to sun-soaked Lanzarote and just plain soaked Arundel . He himself runs fast too , whether 100-mile ultra-marathons , regular marathons ( PB 2hrs 40mins ) or half marathons ( PB 1hr 16mins ). Whatever he does , he does not just talk the talk , he walks the walk : he has high standards and he leads by example . We wish him and his family all the best at the Harrow International School in Bangkok .

SARAH WILLIAMSON
Sarah joined us in May 2006 , as Director of Information Systems . With her strategic and forensic approach , Sarah led a transformation in our IT provision . The school invested heavily in services and recruited a bigger , more skilled team . For many years , they operated out of a mobile hut on the Flat , affectionately known as Primrose Cottage , but they now have a lovely departmental space in the new Science and Technology Centre . The team , under Sarah ’ s leadership , developed a robust infrastructure and employed systems that enabled the school to move almost seamlessly to remote learning in March 2020 .
Sarah has a huge zest for life and trying new things ; together we have explored a range of cookery courses and cheese-making . Sarah is an enthusiastic gardener and walker , and she is now able to spend more time on her hobbies and family . We wish her well .
EVELYN GILBERT-BAIR

Evelyn has advised and supported Sevenoaks students with their US applications as both Head of US and International University Admissions and as US Universities Consultant . She has worked at Sevenoaks in an official capacity since July 2018 , but in the Higher Education department we already knew her as a tireless parent volunteer , who gave many of our students practice US interviews , from the moment that her eldest daughter joined the school .
A highly dedicated professional , and incredibly charismatic , Evelyn ’ s commitment , expertise and insights have been of huge benefit to Sevenoaks students applying to US universities . The department is really indebted to Evelyn for designing and implementing a comprehensive programme of support for US applicants and playing a key role in boosting school acceptance figures to the most
