Tim Procter ( Taylor 75 ) When I left school I went straight into business – selling aircraft charters to special groups . And now , 40-something years hence , I ’ m still – successfully – doing the same job ! Very happy to guide any aviation aspirants on their career .
Dan Evans ( Groves 78 ) Although I left at the end of year five , with only one O-level , my message is to all the mothers of children that are not naturally academic ... ‘ Define success .’ Thank goodness for VISTA .

Jeremy Shears ( Grote 80 ) Jeremy has recently been appointed Honorary Professor in Chemistry at the Manchester Institute of Biotechnology , University of Manchester . He is Chief Scientist at Shell .
Constantine Metaxas ( IC 81 ) After leaving the IC in 1981 , I finished Chemistry at the University of Sussex in 1984 and Materials Science at Northwestern University in 1989 . I have been working for Amoco Chemical , BP Chemicals and currently at INEOS in Texas . After a long wait , I have passed my private pilot licence test and have been flying since 2018 . My goal is to become a flying instructor at retirement from INEOS .
Kenneth Cheung ( Park Grange 82 ) I was awarded the Blount Humanitarian Award from the International Scoliosis Research Society in 2021 for service to spine deformity patients in Cambodia . Over the past seven years , I have been leading teams to treat children with spine deformities in a charity hospital in Phnom Penh and helped train the local spine surgeons to do the same .
Graham Kehily ( Fenton 82 ) I left school 1982 and studied at Bath University , then worked in the City followed by some years living in France . Now living in Bath and working in IT and telecoms . Still flying regularly after starting in the CCF aged 14 . I was married this September to Jan , at the Roman Baths in Bath .
Jill McDonald ( née Manaton ) ( Caxton 82 ) I was appointed CEO of Costa Coffee in 2019 . In part testament to the great sixth form education I received at Sevenoaks School !
Tony Marcello ( Wordsworth 84 ) My career has taken me to live and work in the UK , France and Italy . I have now been living and working in the Kingdom of Jordan since 2010 .
Michael Mann ( Plender 85 ) After finishing his term as EU Ambassador to Iceland , Michael recently became the EU ’ s Special Envoy for the Arctic and is now writing the EU ’ s new Arctic policy .
Julie Beals ( née Lovelock ) ( Sennocke 88 ) Living in Los Angeles with my spouse and twin daughters . Covid opened a door for me to do hospital chaplaincy training and I was ordained in the Episcopal Church in June 2021 .
Anna Wilson ( née Hankey ) ( Hardinge 88 ) I have had three books published this year . In July HarperCollins published the paperback of my memoir A Place for Everything – my mother , autism and me which was featured on BBC Radio 4 Woman ’ s Hour and in the Daily Mail and Telegraph . It is about my mother who was diagnosed with autism at the age of 72 , having been misdiagnosed and sidelined for her mental health issues all her life . Women and girls are often misdiagnosed or slip under the radar when it comes to being diagnosed with autism as they present very differently from men and boys . I felt the need to add to the growing number of voices writing on this subject as no one had written from the point of view of a family member trying to support a woman with autism . In July Nosy Crow and the National Trust published my picture book The Wide , Wide Sea which was described in the Telegraph as ‘ a picture book which captures both the child ’ s enchantment and the adult ’ s nostalgia of days spent by the sea – a lyrical story of a child who visits the seaside with their grandmother and discovers the wonders of the ocean through their imaginative relationship with a seal ’. It was shortlisted for the
