Welcome to this year’s edition of
Sennockian Sport. We are very proud to
have been placed as the ninth best
independent school in the country for
sport by School Sport magazine, taking into
account successes in national competitions,
of which many will be showcased over the
following pages.
We have reached numerous national finals,
can boast county championship-winning
teams and individually, many students have
gone on to represent the county or higher.
“Congratulations on helping
us to become the ninth best
independent sport school in
the country!”
At Sevenoaks School we offered 19
competitive sports this year, providing
opportunities for our students wherever
their passions may lie. Statistics show that in
the 2017-18 season, we fielded 178 teams,
played 953 fixtures, winning 59.4 per cent
of the time. Over 86 per cent of students
represented the school at some point during
the year; a school record, which includes 100
per cent representation in the Lower School,
91 per cent in the Middle School and 64 per
cent in the Upper School, again a new record.
The students’ infectious enthusiasm
for sport at Sevenoaks makes it all so
worthwhile. Success cannot be achieved
without enormous hard work, dedication,
commitment and resilience. Every student
should be applauded for their effort.
I would also like to take this opportunity
to thank you: the parents for your support
throughout the year and our wonderful
coaches and support staff for their total
commitment to developing sport at
Sevenoaks School. Without you, none of this
would be possible.
