Welcome to this year’s edition of the
Sennockian Sport Supplement. We are very
proud to have been ranked as the eighth
best independent school for sport in the
country by School Sport Magazine (an
improvement of ten places from last year),
which has taken into account successes in
national competitions, of which many will
be showcased over the following pages.
We have reached the national finals in five
sports this year, while we can also boast
nine county championship-winning teams.
There are 79 county, regional and national
representatives.
“Congratulations on helping
us to become the eighth best
independent sport school in
the country!”
We offer 18 competitive sports, providing
opportunities for our students, wherever
their passions may lie. Statistics show that
in the 2016-17 season, we fielded 169
teams, played 1141 fixtures, winning 57.8
per cent of the time. Eighty-six per cent of
students represented the school at some
point during the year, which includes 99 per
cent representation in the Lower School and
91 per cent in the Middle School.
The students’ infectious enthusiasm for
sport at Sevenoaks makes it all thoroughly
worthwhile. Success cannot be achieved
without enormous hard work, dedication,
commitment and resilience, and each and
every student should be applauded for
their effort.
I would also like to take this opportunity
to thank all parents for their support
throughout the year and our wonderful
coaches and support staff for their total
commitment to developing sport at
Sevenoaks School. Without you all, none
of this would be possible.
