ARTIST IN RESIDENCE
MY TIME as Artist in Residence at Sevenoaks School has been an incredibly enriching and transformative experience. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to support students in their artistic discoveries while simultaneously being inspired and supported by them. Sharing a studio space fostered a unique environment where ideas flowed freely, and it was a joy to engage in mutual creativity. Their curiosity and fearlessness reminded me of the importance of risk-taking in my own practice.
Having the space to experiment and explore my work as both an artist and teacher has been invaluable. The residency offered me the rare chance to slow down, shift pace and approach my art with a renewed sense of play and freedom. It was energising to bridge the gap between education and professional art practice – an experience that benefited both myself and the students.
I’ m especially thankful for the opportunity to exhibit in The Space, which allowed me to further develop and share my professional work. Sevenoaks has provided not only resources but a genuine belief in creative growth, and for that, I am sincerely thankful. This residency has shaped my practice and perspective in ways that will stay with me long beyond my time here.
