ALEX DIEBEL
With an abundance of style, flair and sophistication, Alex is a true matriarch of our boarding house. She is embarking on a well-deserved retirement after being an integral part of the Park Grange family for 23 incredible years. A pillar of support, her presence has been a comforting constant in the lives of countless students.
Alex’ s unwavering dedication to the wellbeing of the students who have joined us from all over the world has been nothing short of inspiring. From managing travel arrangements and booking taxis to tending to sick children and liaising with parents, she has juggled her responsibilities with grace and efficiency. Her ability to create a warm and nurturing environment sets her apart. Creative afternoon snacks have been a highlight for many girls – the wide range of food lovingly prepared was not just treats for their taste buds, but a symbol of her care.
Alex has been more than just a matron, she has been a mentor, a confidante and sometimes a second mother to many of the girls, offering guidance, listening patiently and always sharing a kind word. Her wise words usually turned their troubles around( although sometimes needed repeating once or twice!). Her presence has made Park Grange feel like a true home away from home.
KATE HOPKINS
As we say goodbye to Kate Hopkins, we would like to recognise and celebrate their invaluable contributions to the Technology department over the past five years.
Kate has played a pivotal role in shaping the 3D Art and Design course at Sevenoaks School. Their creativity, vision and dedication were instrumental in developing and setting up the way the subject is now taught, leaving a legacy that will benefit students for years to come. Their passion for design, paired with a thoughtful and student-focused approach, has inspired many and helped foster a love of making and creativity across the department.
In addition to their work in Technology, Kate has been a dedicated Lower School tutor, offering care, guidance and support to students with warmth and empathy.
Kate now moves on to an exciting new role as Head of Personal Development at Uplands Academy. While they will be greatly missed by both staff and students at Sevenoaks, we are delighted for them and wish them every success in this next chapter of their career. We thank them sincerely for the enthusiasm, energy and expertise they have brought to the school.
Michael Conroy
As Alex embarks on a new chapter, we want to express our deepest gratitude for her dedicated service. Her contributions have left an indelible mark on Park Grange, and her legacy will continue to inspire us for years to come. We wish Alex all the best and hope she enjoys this well-deserved time to relax, pursue her passions and create new memories. We will miss her, but she will always be a part of the Park Grange family.
