CROSS COUNTRY
Celebrating an outstanding cross country season with the inter girls reaching the national finals , the largest-ever Junior Knole Run , and strong performances in the Senior Knole Run .
It ’ s been another excellent season for the cross country programme . We ’ ve seen enjoyment and participation continuing to increase , with over 50 students regularly attending training and over 60 representing the school in competitions . Throughout the season our runners have demonstrated dedication to developing their fitness , resulting in some fantastic performances .
The juniors continued to go from strength to strength with a busy fixture calendar . There were notable performances from both boys and girls in qualifying for the ESAA regional finals , where the girls finished eighth in the south-east and the boys 14th . At the height of the season , we hosted our largest ever Junior Knole Run , with over 500 runners entering from schools across the south . In a tough competition , the Sevenoaks girls finished fourth and the boys finished seventh .
Our intermediate girls delivered a fantastic season , qualifying for the national finals after coming first in the county and second in the regional rounds , with brilliant performances . At the nationals , the team battled the snow-covered ground and minus 5 ° C temperatures , demonstrating admirable determination and resilience to achieve 23rd in the country .
January brought the Senior Knole Run , again a well-attended event with fierce competition . Our girls ’ teams took third and sixth place , with Alice Keen
