In 2017 , seeking a new challenge , Lucy became our Academic Administration Manager . The organisation of internal and external exams , with the detailed requirements of exam boards , is a huge undertaking , and again , Lucy was phenomenal . Her capacity for dealing accurately with vast amounts of information has been so impressive and crucial to the smooth running of such a critical function . Every teacher and ex-student owe her a debt of gratitude but will have little idea about how much went on behind the scenes .

LUCY WHISTLER
Lucy joined Sevenoaks School in 2007 as Office Support Services Manager and quickly established herself as invaluable in our administration . It was evident from her CV that in previous jobs she had been at the heart of the whole organisation , taking on a range of roles at any one time , proving to be very strong both operationally and as a manager . Sevenoaks School was to be no different ; Lucy rapidly became a driving force , bringing in fresh ideas and initiatives , improving efficiency of internal and outward-facing procedures and communications . Having two children in the school enabled Lucy to see things from different perspectives ; this insight , together with her huge institutional knowledge , was of great benefit .
Lucy described herself at interview as ‘ quite assertive ’ and ‘ very efficient ’; I think those who worked closely with her would agree ! These traits meant you always knew where you stood with her and , more importantly , facilitated some robust and detailed discussions to ensure the best outcomes . The mysteries of all the school ’ s information and administrative systems were safe in her hands . She also kept us to the highest standards and woe betide any tutor who didn ’ t empty their tutor group ’ s pigeonhole in time !
Lucy has been a great colleague and a tough act to follow . She has always been committed to providing the very best support , with forensic thought and hard work . We wish her very well in her richly deserved retirement .
