40 YEAR REUNION : CLASS OF 1984
1984 is a long way back , but in June it felt close at hand at our reunion . It was a total joy to meet up with so many friends and be reminded of an unbreakable bond ; this is my peer group from a time in life when so much was confusing and needed working out ! It was fascinating to learn where our lives have taken us , to hear how many people are involved in helping others . The wish to give back was a frequent theme in the conversations I shared .
I marvelled at how we have grown up , at all the decisions we have made , the chances taken , the countries lived in , and the children cared for . It ’ s a precious thing to learn how much has grown and flourished from the soil of Sevenoaks and those many shared experiences , parties and escapades . The school is much bigger now and offers an amazing range of opportunities and possibilities . Any nostalgia was outweighed by a deep sense of gratitude and pride that I had the chance to be one of a really nice bunch of people . Thank you to everyone who came , and I look forward to the next reunion .
