GIRLS
Record numbers of girls are now playing cricket at Sevenoaks . We had a Year 7 and Year 8 hard ball team who enjoyed some competitive games in the Summer term . They finished the season winning the Kent Hardball Eights and plate competition at the Reigate Sixes tournament . Special mentions to Ruby Marriage and Imogen Smith for their explosive batting and Jemima House and Emily Hancock for their excellent bowling performances . A tied game with Epsom College , in a high-quality match , was another highlight .
Years 9 and 10 also gained in confidence playing hard ball cricket . Some good performances against Mayfield and King ’ s Canterbury and winning the Kent Hardball Eights were highlights of their year . Victoria Kern , Rosie Hornshaw and Lowri Morgan were the main run-scorers , with Lauren James , Mimosa Barker and Lottie Hobbs bowling with good pace and accuracy .
Lots of soft ball cricket was played in PE lessons and Saturday inter-school tournaments . There are exciting plans for hard ball and soft ball leagues next year which will build on the positive steps we have made this year . We have lots to look forward to in the 2024 season .
