BASKETBALL
This year has seen an amazing comeback in the world of sport and at Sevenoaks many students have participated in the basketball sessions and teams . It is the first time we have played in the league with an U14 team alongside the U16 and U18 teams , and the first time we have had girls participating in training sessions and matches with an U18 team .
The U14 boys had an amazing season , making it to the final of the LISBA league ( London Independent Schools Basketball Association ) against Whitgift , having lost to only one school for the full season . They put in a really good performance and amazing memories were created .

U18 GIRLS
This year we took the wonderful initiative to build up an U18 girls ’ team and compete against other schools . Experiencing the thrill of winning our first game truly changed my Sevenoaks experience . I remember everyone ’ s excitement and nerves on the bus as we were on our way to our first opponents , an American school . For many on the team , it was their first official basketball game . This made our win even more valuable as it showed us how much we could achieve through teamwork and commitment . The girls played amazingly and enjoyed their first three wins .

U18 BOYS
Every player was excited to play basketball again , after Covid-19 ruined last year . For the many new younger players participating in the U18 boys ’ team , it was a tough comeback . The first half of the season was mixed , with some encouraging wins , but also some heavy losses . A few injuries set us back in terms of finding a set team which would play every match , but luckily a few ambitious younger players were able to step up and gain some valuable experience . Our most memorable game was against TASIS , in which we managed to come back from being down by 15 points against a strong team . I wish Sevenoaks good luck in the future , as there are many talented young players , who will no doubt bring excellent results .
