FROM THE HEADMASTER
This year has been a joy . It has been wonderful to see the whole school come fully back to life after the pandemic .
We have enjoyed trips , plays , concerts and a full programme of sporting activities . Parents , as well as students , have revelled once again in all that school life offers . We also welcomed back over 1000 Old Sennockians for a series of summer reunions , bringing the school community together to celebrate our enduring connections .
We also have many achievements to celebrate this year . I will highlight three .
Sevenoaks School received the Wellbeing Award for Schools , which recognises our work to ensure that every member of the school community is supported and can flourish . This two-year process provided us with a clear framework for analysing wellbeing and mental health provision and enabled us to look objectively and collaboratively at our support systems . The award celebrates our areas of good practice , including the role staff play in student wellbeing , our excellent counselling and support services , and our facilities and beautiful grounds . Our Institute of Teaching and Learning has also collaborated with Research Schools International and the Harvard Human Flourishing Program , while student and teacher research fellows have analysed what flourishing means and shaped some important new developments to support student wellbeing .
