1970-1979
Revd Peter Wyard ( Caxton 72 ) My wife Patricia and I are in our fourth year working in rural NE DR Congo . I am a theological educator and Patricia is a doctor pioneering palliative care in this setting . We are serving with the Anglican Church . We plan to retire to the UK just before Christmas !
Dr Humphrey Crick ( Fryth 75 ) I don ’ t think I ’ ve ever sent a description of my career before , but due to the great encouragement by my Biology teacher Mr Lloyd , I have been lucky enough to pursue a career in ornithology and latterly conservation . I have studied bee-eaters in Nigeria , pesticide impacts in Scotland and Zimbabwe , worked for the British Trust for Ornithology and currently for Natural England – I ’ m trying to work out how to design a national nature network . The school gave me a flying start – so very grateful for that !
Simon Olley ( Fenton 79 ) I continue to make pottery in Kent based on the exciting ( sometimes imaginary ) life of my Labrador retriever . I make commissions for customers as far afield as Japan , the USA and Australia . This year my work was awarded Best in Show and Visitors ’ Favourite at Potfest Glynde , and Best Stand in Show at the Contemporary Craft Festival . Steve Beech ( Grote 84 ) Vanessa Beech ( née Gratwick ) ( Fenton 84 ) and I will be celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary in August .

Emma Caddy ( GIH 90 ) The social enterprise I founded and run in Kenya , Tiny Totos , which is working to transform quality and access to early learning and care for all , was shortlisted by the Yale Africa Start Up Review ( YASR ). YASR honours founders leading start-ups that are shaping the future of Africa with innovative solutions .
Charles Rodmell ( Fryth 92 ) I was captain of the cross country team in 1991-2 and people always wondered why I was running around . Well , since then I ’ ve raced for Adidas and Red Bull , won a few races and generally had a lot of fun . I ’ ve also founded runningversity . com so if you would like help with your running please get in touch .
Professor Chi Eung Lim ( IC 97 ) I have been appointed as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Technology , Sydney and Western Sydney University , Australia . The Australian Government has appointed me as the National Chair of the Chinese Medicine Board of Australia .
2000-2009
Sophie Karoly ( GIH 2000 ) I married Francisco de Borbón in Seville on 9 October 2021 , and we have a four-year-old son . GIH and IC friends from the Class of 2000 , Paula Rosenstein ( née Kopecna ), Laura López Pascua , Sarika Shah , Sophie Batthyany and Peter Shekleton joined us for our celebrations . We shared wonderful memories of our time at Sevenoaks .

Henrietta Hickling ( 08 ) While developing my career in marketing over the last eight years , I have also been building a wedding floristry business . I ’ ve arranged flowers for 15 beautiful occasions , including some for OS . It ’ s great to get back to my creative roots and makes me think of all the hours spent in the Art department . Russell Martin ( Johnsons 08 ) I married Mary Morgan Tuggle on 29 May in Memphis , Tennessee . We live in New York City .
Charlie Gilpin ( 09 ) Sam Moss ( IC 12 ) and I launched STOCKED in 2021 . Born out of frustrations with inefficient batch cooking and the lack of flexible convenience food , we came up with something to fit the needs of busy foodies . Our meals are designed to provide quality and to help cut down on food waste and excessive packaging . We have built our subscription business to over 1200 customers and have been elected for Virgin Start Up ’ s Collective Impact accelerator , which helps businesses get ready for crowdfunding campaigns .
