WELCOMING YOU BACK TO SEVENOAKS
‘ One could just imagine the ghost of “ Jimmy ” Higgs-Walker , making his stately way down the slope from School House to the Hall for Morning Assembly .’
After a two-year pause , we resumed the muchanticipated Old Sennockian reunions this summer . It is the first time we have grouped several classes together across four reunion events ; we wondered how we would rise to the challenge ! So it is wonderful to say how successful it was and that we welcomed 1000 alumni from across the UK and as far afield as Asia and South America , back to Sevenoaks . It was also an honour to be joined by legendary former teachers Bob White , Lesley Millar , Jonty Driver , John Guyatt and Mike Bolton .
A NIGHT OF EXUBERANT ENTHUSIASM
Having missed out on their leavers ’ events , the first reunion for the Classes of 2020 and 2021 was a night of exuberant enthusiasm and felt just like a university summer ball . The leavers ’ dinner and disco was in a purpose-built , beautifully decorated marquee on Duke ’ s Meadow . The atmosphere was superb , and OS described the event as ‘ unmissable ’. One thing was apparent – Old Sennockians came to talk and to share their university experiences of the past two years .
