Our final days at school were not what we would have expected , as there were limits on what we could do . Nonetheless , we again tried to make the best out of the situation ; our last day of school was spent signing shirts and taking photos in the afternoon sun – this was the moment that made us realise that we were really leaving . Some of us were emotional , and others were excited , but everyone began to say a proper goodbye . The next day was the one a lot of us had been looking forward to – the leavers ’ concert and leavers ’ lunch . Everyone was in the Pamoja Hall together again , with performances from our peers , and our year group united when singing songs and dancing along with the performers – the crowd singalong to a medley of Mamma Mia songs was a particular highlight for me !
We have all had mixed experiences over these last two years , but we have all grown and changed in positive ways that will hopefully help us in the future . The bonds and relationships that have been formed will be stronger for having endured a pandemic . I believe I can speak on behalf of my whole year group – again – in saying that we will certainly never forget these two years !
