The progress our teams have made is testament to the hard work and commitment of both the players and staff . The highlight of the year was our block fixture against Epsom with over 22 teams in action – we had just over 200 girls representing Sevenoaks in netball on one weekend alone !
With more Sevenoaks students representing Kent County and Netball Performance League performance hubs around the country , opportunities are continuing to grow for us to put on more and more fixtures . Hopefully this fantastic season is only the start of an even more prosperous netball future .

This has been one of our most successful and enjoyable seasons throughout the seven years of my netball career at Sevenoaks . We started off the year tackling the county tournament , topping our pool group in the first round , and finishing third place in the second round , just missing out on qualifying for regionals . It was still a very strong performance from everyone in the team so early on in the season .
In October , our senior squads were lucky enough to go on an eight-day tour to Barbados . This allowed us to play a very different style of international netball , with some coaching from professionals and the challenge of playing in extreme heat ! Overall , it was a brilliant way to start the season . We had some very tough and challenging games , but we managed to remain undefeated on the island . I can honestly say this was the most exciting and rewarding sporting experience my peers and I have had at Sevenoaks .
Returning home , the 1st team had some very close games against our usual tough competitors , but we made a massive improvement from previous years , winning against Epsom College 34-30 and Wellington College 42-38 . Going from strength to strength , we managed to win the Birley ’ s Tournament in Canterbury in our penultimate fixture . It was sad that the season had to end so abruptly due to Covid-19 .
I would like to congratulate and thank not only all the staff for supporting us , but the 1st VII squad for their commitment and team spirit too ; it has been an honour to be team captain .
