Silence spread through the Pamoja Hall as the lights dimmed . The stage was filled with the Big Band , all wearing bright red Santa hats in true Christmas spirit , and the barbershop quartet took to the stage in front of them to performing a rewritten version of ‘ In the bleak midwinter ’, with lyrics welcoming the audience to Crash into Christmas .
The Big Band , led by Mr Beston , opened with a vibrant and extra jazzy rendition of ‘ Santa Claus is coming to town ’ and included everybody ’ s favourite jazz tune , ‘ The Pink Panther Theme ’, in their set . There were notable solos from Tom Williams ( Upper Sixth ), Kai Hayashi ( Lower Sixth ), and Tom Langford ( Upper Sixth ) with his tinsel-covered trumpet . After the Big Band finished up , there were some shorter , lively performances from the a capella group and Saxophone Megaband , followed by pieces from the Middle School jazz band , including a singing performance with Mitika Agarwal ( Upper Sixth ).
After the interval , the concert resumed with the Voices group , followed by the talented saxophone quartet . The trio of Columbus Sandor ( Lower Sixth ),
