Initially , I was nervous about living in a house with 60 other boys for two years . After a few weeks and participating in many events , this became an aspect of boarding that I liked most . I enjoyed learning from students who lived in different areas of the world .
Since attending Sevenoaks School , I feel that the most important thing I have learnt is that the world is bigger than just London ; specifically , that there are many more places to see and people to talk to .
My journey to Sevenoaks
My journey from London to Sevenoaks has been educational in many ways . Having grown up in such an animated environment as Tottenham , I was faced with challenges every day . I was able to overcome them by focusing on my education .
When I was given the offer to join Royal SpringBoard , I knew that it was a great opportunity but was unsure about accepting it , as I did not know if I would do well at a boarding school . I was able to visit Sevenoaks School several months before starting the International Baccalaureate programme . Once I learned about the wide variety of activities as well as the diverse student culture , I knew that accepting the offer was the best decision I had made .
I think that my greatest achievement at the school was receiving offers for my artwork after the IB Art Exhibition . One of my paintings gained the attention of the guests , and many of them continued to show their interest over the following weeks by offering to buy it .
Sevenoaks has changed my life , in the sense that I have learnt more about the world . I have also gained valuable skills . Furthermore , I have more knowledge about what I want to do in the future .
