A transformative education
Sevenoaks School Covid-19 Appeal
Maintaining access to Sevenoaks School ’ s exceptional education for all students .

Sevenoaks School was founded in 1432 when William Sevenoke left a legacy to establish a free school so that others might have access to education . Six centuries later , we embrace this founding principle through the growth of our access to education programmes .

With the support of the Sevenoaks School Foundation , the school currently provides close to £ 3m each year for full or partial bursaries . These bursaries give academically talented students from low-income families a Sevenoaks education , which can transform their life opportunities . Sixty students currently attend Sevenoaks School supported by bursaries .
Students come from local schools , or through our partnership with the Royal National Children ’ s SpringBoard Foundation , which raises aspirations by matching and placing students most likely to benefit from a boarding school education . Our first student from the scheme , Tariq , graduated in 2019 and we are delighted that he found the experience so transformative . Further support from donors meant that in September 2019 we were able to provide full bursaries for another two Royal SpringBoard Sixth Form students .
None of this would be possible without the generous support of parents and Old Sennockians . The Campaign for Sevenoaks School , launched in 2016 , set out to achieve £ 4m in funding for bursaries by 2020 , and by the end of the 2019-20 academic year we were close to achieving this , having raised £ 3.8m .
In response to the pandemic , and to ensure that no current student would be left behind in its wake , the Sevenoaks School Foundation launched the Sevenoaks School Covid-19 Appeal in June . The appeal has raised over £ 300,000 , which is helping to protect the health , safety and welfare of students and staff , provide hardship bursaries to families in financial distress as a result of the pandemic and safeguard full bursaries for students from low-income families .
I wish to offer my sincere thanks and appreciation to our donors for their collective generosity to support students at Sevenoaks School . Every gift makes a difference .
