The Weald and Downland Cup has been held at Tonbridge School for the past few years , with a change of venue to Sevenoaks this year . With seven schools in attendance , we were looking forward to an afternoon of exciting racing over 100m , 50m and relays of 4x50m . The inter boys ’ team retained the cup for their age group with the boys winning the event overall . The girls ’ team had strong competition , coming second across all age groups and overall .
Our final competition of the year was the Invitational Cup at Tonbridge School , a gender-blind gala , for any schools who wish to swim their fastest student . The event has two age groups with six schools competing this year . It was a strong competition , with some boys swimming up an age group to help bolster the senior squad . The boys performed well , securing third place behind Harrow and Tonbridge with Reed ’ s in fourth .
A new event this year was the World School Games , planned to be held at the London Aquatic Centre .
